For sleep, meditation, healing, creativity, relaxation, and more…

The Liminal Flow music app is dedicated to high-quality generative, adaptive, and spatial sound for meditation, sleep, healing, enhancing creativity, relaxation, and more. We have created a new custom audio engine called Flow, powered by a new scripting language called Liminal. Music is written in liminal, where it is not quite code and not quite music, but designed for creating non-linear and adaptive sound compositions.

  • Typically this is a software platform for creating and managing interactive and adaptive audio within video games. The Liminal Flow engine is unique in that it is focused only on musical purposes.

  • Most often composers write music that starts at point A and then leads to point B. What if you were able to write music that is more like a 'choose your own adventure' book — where every time you listen it gives you a unique story?

  • No it is not made with AI, the music is ever-different and changing, and is created by a system, or set of processes defined by the composer — rather than the same pattern and series of notes that gets repeated with precision every time the music is played.

  • The music can slowly transform based on a variety of inputs, making it interactive or responsive to elements outside the engine like a heartbeat, or brainwaves, or a control device, or a sensor.

  • Slowing Down

Embracing the use of silence and simplicity in music allows a new mode of being to take root, one that is in contrast to the tendency in our culture for busyness and to fill every possible moment. Stillness and slowing down are fundamental for healing.

  • Surrender

When creating sound systems where we can’t control exactly when all the elements play, we are tangibly exploring the ideas of non-attachment, a letting go of control, and an acceptance of impermanence and unpredictability...all important components for healing trauma.
